Below
are links to video of Darrell and Elliott running
exhibition barrels. These early outings are for the
purpose of introducing the horse to the energy and
distractions of the show environment, while directing
his focus to the skill he's been learning at the Rope 'n
Tie; completing a competitive circuit around the barrels.
In the beginning, Darrell is looking for perfection in
the pattern, rather than raw speed. His rationale is
that speed can be developed in the process of training,
but that speed alone, will not overcome a sloppy
performance around the barrels. |
